Four Year Degree Programs

As a result of a 2+2 articulation agreement between NTCC and Texas A&M University - Texarkana , six teacher certification programs are currently offered on the NTCC campus.

Students, after receiving core requirements through NTCC, can then make a seamless transition to A&M-Texarkana to complete the final two years of coursework. This program provides bachelor degrees and teacher certification in the areas of Early Childhood to Grade 4, Early Childhood to Grade 4 with Special Education endorsement, Grades 4-8 Math, Grades 8-12 Math, Grades 4-8 Biology and Grades 8-12 Biology.

All Texarkana coursework is offered on the NTCC campus, and is taught by A&M-Texarkana instructors or via distance education. This partnership, some 200 students strong, is a direct result of a nationwide teacher shortage, and is aimed at increasing the number of qualified, high-need area teachers in this region.

In an effort to further expand baccalaureate programs on the NTCC campus, A&M-Texarkana is now also offering four-year programs in criminal justice and BAAS (Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences).

For more information on these programs, contact Dr. Callie Fortenberry, Program Director for A&M-Texarkana at Northeast Texas Community College, at 903.434. 8355 ( callie.fortenberry@tamut.edu ), or visit the A&M-Texarkana website at http://www.tamut.edu.
