Northeast Texas Community College Title III

In October 2010, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Jonathan McCullough received word from the U.S. Department of Education that Northeast Texas Community College’s Title III proposal was selected for funding.  Precious time, effort, and talent produced an exciting outcome for our college. The five year grant provides our college the opportunity to expand and improve upon its existing distance learning system to create a comprehensive network of online and hybrid courses and it will assist us to create online academic support and students services that will expand education access across rural Northeast Texas and while encouraging and growing student success.

The five year grant, in the amount of $1,997,115 could not have been received at a better time for our institution.  Our proposal, “Increasing Educational Access across Rural Northeast Texas” will afford our college the time and resources needed to expand and improve distance learning, online academic and student services.

"I am as excited about this Title III project as anything we are doing at this college.  Through this "aspirational" grant program we seek to make NTCC a "digitally savvy" organization.  To achieve that vision we must begin with our instructional experiences - the core of our mission.  But we cannot stop there.  The various ways we serve our students must all move into the digital age.  Accessing services from any of our student services and business office departments needs to be possible anytime/anywhere.  This grant, if successful, will help us address these needs across the board.  For that I am pleased to support the purpose and tactics of our Title III grant."
