Procedures of Reporting Crime On
Campus of Northeast Texas Community College

Northeast Texas Community college provides security for the campus 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week.

To report a crime, emergency or student assistance call extension 8173 (Plant Services). You may dial "0" until 6:00 p.m., Monday thru Thursday to get the switch board operator. During non-school days and after hours, security may be reached by dialing 903-563-1471 or 903-563-1417.

The security department of Northeast Texas Community College is an unarmed security and are not law enforcement personnel. The Titus County Sheriff's Department responds to any criminal acts that occur on campus. Upon notification of any criminal offense that occurs on campus, a security officer or other designated person will respond to the complaint. The complainant is notified that security officers are not law enforcement and either call the Titus County Sheriff's Department for them or furnish telephone number of sheriff to complainant. Northeast Texas Community College Security Officer will make a report of the offense. The Security Department assists the Sheriff's Department in any way we can to assist them in the investigation of crimes. Northeast Texas Community College has a very good relationship with the Titus county Sheriff's Department.

The Security Department maintains and publishes annually the crime statistics as required by the Jeanne Cleary Act. These are made available to all employees, students, faculty and prospective students. You can view them below.

The Security Department works with the Student Activities Department to provide  brochures for students, to advise them on prevention of crime and procedures to take after certain crimes have been committed.

There are three (3) emergency phones located on campus, and all calls from the emergency phones will go directly to security's cell phone.

The emergency phones are located in brightly painted red weatherproof boxes on the outside of the following buildings:

Administration Building
Math Science Building
Business Technology Building
