Fast-Track Academy (College Credit)This concentrated academy features highly qualified and dedicated instructors, with extensive experience in law enforcement and education. Each of our full-time instructors possesses a Masters Degree. In addition to the 643 hours required by TCOLE, Northeast Police Academy offers 104 additional hours in physical training, report writing, and computer instruction to help cadets prepare for a successful career in law enforcement. Upon completion of Northeast Police Academy, graduates will require only 12 additional courses (fewer in some cases) to achieve an Associate's Degree.

Program CostTuition will be the same as standard college credit tuition at Northeast Texas Community College. All cadets are required to wear uniforms purchased through Northeast Texas Community College's Bookstore. Qualified candidates may be able to use funding through PELL Grants, GI Bill, Workforce Investment Act (WIA), etc. (if eligible) to pay required tuition, fees, and supplies. On campus housing will be available for those cadets who need dormitories. Additionally, local hotels will offer rooms at a reduced rate to cadets.

In order to be considered for Northeast Police Academy, a candidate must be at least 21* years of age, and must:
*Applicants under the age of 21 will be considered only if they are 18 years of age or older, meet the criteria listed above, and can produce DD214 form showing minimum 2 years active duty with honorable discharge or hold an associate degree or posses 60 college credit hours from an accredited university or college.
