Effective Immediately the Dental Hygiene program will NOT admit any new students and will close the program when the existing students complete their studies in 2015.

Accreditation

The Northeast Texas Community College Dental Hygiene program is a fully accredited program and has been granted accreditation status of approval without reporting requirements by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (ADA-CODA).  Dental and dental hygiene education program accreditation is granted through ADA-CODA, the accrediting body for all of dentistry.  When ADA-CODA accreditation is awarded to education programs, it indicates the program has met or exceeded the basic accreditation requirements through nationally established education standards for the dental field.

Every seven years, ADA-CODA schedules a site visit to review our program.  The NTCC Dental Hygiene program site visit is scheduled for December 3-4, 2013. In preparation for our accreditation visit, the dental hygiene program is soliciting third-party comments. Documents helpful to this process include the Dental Hygiene Accreditation Standards, the Policy on Third Party Comments, and CODA Policies and Procedures which include a section on filing complaints and may be accessed on the American Dental Association web site http://www.ada.org/117.aspx  or by calling 1-800-821-8099 or by writing to the following address:

American Dental Association (ADA)
211 East Chicago Avenue
Chicago, Illinois 60611

We invite our NTCC community to participate in our review process through this solicitation of third party comments not only from our immediate campus community, but also from our wider stakeholder community, the broad community we proudly serve.  Thank you for your participation.

Effective Immediately the Dental Hygiene program will NOT admit any new students and will close the program when the existing students complete their studies in 2015.
