Program Highlights

The NTCC Dental Hygiene Program is dedicated to offering oral health support to the local communities. We appreciate the opportunity to serve and therefore encourage you to let us know what is happening in your area.

Mt. Pleasant Community Health Fair.
The annual Mt. Pleasant Community Health Fair was held on Saturday, October 11th at the Tennision Memorial United Methodist Church. The NTCC Dental Hygiene Program attended and offered education about our program as well as oral health education information for distribution to the event attendees.

Mt. Pleasant ISD Child Development Center Head Start:
NTCC Dental Hygiene students and faculty will provide screenings and teeth cleanings to the MPISD CDC Head Start children in the Fall 2014 semester and the Spring 2015 semester. Thank you to the faculty and staff of the Mount Pleasant Child Development Center for helping to make this event possible.

Choctaw Nation:
NTCC Dental Hygiene students participate in an off-site clinical rotation to the Choctaw Nation Health Services Authority during the Spring semester. We are grateful to partner with Choctaw Nation so that we can offer our students this wonderful opportunity. We are extremely thankful for CDR. D. Renee Evans, PharmD and Brookes Little, DDS, for their assistance in making this off-site rotation possible for our students. 

Texas Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association (SADHA)
Student Members of the American Dental Hygienists' Association, or SADHA, is a category of membership within the American Dental Hygienists' Association. ADHA is an association dedicated to the advancement and promotion of dental hygiene. The NTCC Dental Hygiene students attended the annual SADHA conference in San Marcos, TX in February 2014.

NTCC Scare Affair is a community wide event providing Halloween activities, food, venues, and safe trick-or-treating for children of all ages. Our NTCC Dental Hygiene student tooth fairies host a booth with treats, activities and games.
