Job Outlook/Salaries
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor, projected job growth is 22%, much faster than the average occupation. According to Jobs Rated Almanac, medical laboratory science has 25% job growth and good job security. Among health related professions, it currently ranks #3.  The latest information shows the median annual wage for medical laboratory technicians is about $37,240.  Currently there is a shortage in many parts of the country guaranteeing employment and higher salaries for graduates.
