Theatre Northeast is extremely excited to produce the annual Christmas Children's Play, Once Upon a Wolf by Steph DeFerie, December 11 and 12 at 7:30 and December 13 at 2:05 in the Whatley Center for Performing Arts. Once Upon a Wolf begins when Old Granny Stinkyfeet tries to tell the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. The only problem is that the Wolf in the story has decided that he is tired of being a villain, and not only that, he has become a vegetarian. Granny tries to put the Wolf in various other stories, such as the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Cinderella, Androcles and the Lion, and Jack and the Beanstalk, all with disastrous results. By the end of the play, the Wolf has learned to be happy being himself and Granny has learned that anyone can be a good guy. The show is full of fun characters, big laughs, and a lot of heart.

Once Upon a Wolf features Holly McCoy, Eric Staples and Ashley Rae Simpson from Daingerfield, Cole Risner, Josh Wilcox and Robin Hilton from Pittsburg, Stephen Graham, Naomi Taylor, Joel Burkhalter and Whitney Dawson from Mt. Pleasant, Angela Horn (Mineola), Lydia Caldwell (Omaha), Johnny Vannier (Bonham), Gabrielle Silvey (Winnsboro) Jordan Griffith (Gilmer) and Bryanne Albey (Hughes Springs.) The production is directed by NTCC Professor of Theatre Douglas Hoppock.

Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for age 17 and under, $3 for NTCC Faculty , Staff and Senior Citizens, and no charge for current NTCC students. Reservations are not required.
