Have you ever wanted to fly a drone? Well, here’s your chance. This course will teach you the techniques and rules necessary in flying drones. You will also learn how to program the drone to do specific activities and even run an obstacle course. Come to class prepared to learn some new technology and have fun at the same time.
 

Design Academy Using Canva

Design Academy using Canva

Students will learn the basics of design using the free Canva online platform. Class activities include: taking and uploading photos, searching pictures and elements in Canva, exploring fonts and colors, and creating eye-catching designs like cards, flyers, videos, and more. Students will need an email address to access the Canva program. Those with cell phones can email or upload personal photos to use.

Robotics is a fun, hands-on approach in learning programming and design. Students will build and program robots using LEGO® bricks and software; all while working as a team member, making new friends, developing new skills and having a great time. This course is intended for beginners.

Do you want to learn how to bake like those kids on the baking shows? Enroll in this class and learn the rules of the kitchen and how to bake a variety of pastries. Ms. Nina will walk students through proper baking procedures and techniques. bake cookies, cupcakes, breads, scones, muffins, pies, tarts, and even a celebration cake. The students will also learn how to make their goodies look tasty as well. This course requires at home adult assistance for building experiments at home. The time allotted for this class is to be understood as a range of time not exact time.

Are you an explorer? Do you love art? Join us as we embark on a journey through classical drawing, painting, and designing with mixed media. Throughout the week, you will experiment with several art forms, discover new ways to have fun with art, and create artworks you love. We will spend two days drawing, three days painting, and three days creating with mixed media. We look forward to seeing you at camp!

The Not So Mysterious Disappearance of Cinderella

Act, Dance, Put on a Show!! Trained or first-time actors & dancers ~ come join in the fun and perform the fantastically fun story, "THE NOT SO MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE OF CINDERELLA."  This two-week, fun-filled camp will teach acting and dance to kids ages 8 to 16 as they learn the basics of auditioning, scene blocking, choreography and develop a 30-minute musical to be performed the last day of camp on the Whatley Center stage for family and friends. Auditions for parts will take place the second day of camp (we’ll get to know each other on day one and learn auditioning skills). Every camper will be cast. Those cast as lead roles will be required to memorize lines each night in preparation for the next day’s rehearsal (no worries, you can do it!) Costumes and sets provided. Once registered, campers’ parents will receive an introductory email with all information regarding attire, snack break, performance time, and auditioning & line memorization tips. In the "The Not So Mysterious Disappearance of Cinderella" everyone in the kingdom is a suspect in Cinderella's whereabouts. The Fairy Godmother, the Big Bad Wolf, Papa, Mama and Baby Bear, Goldilocks, Snow White, Belle and more fairytale characters feverishly search for Cinderella in this cute fairytale farce of a princess gone rogue. Jodie Stewart Wilk is the Owner and Director of PERFORMANCE SUPPLY COMPANY, an acting and theatre school she started in 2019 in Pittsburg, Texas. She is thrilled to bring her 30+ years’ experience teaching, directing and choreographing numerous plays and musicals throughout Texas, Connecticut and Canada to her new small town. Joining her in leading the camp is her daughter, Liza Wilk, actress, model, voiceover artist, who can be seen in starring roles on Netflix in "Full Out 2" and on Amazon Prime in "The Walking Point." Firefighters, EMS providers and law enforcement professionals are the first responders that work together to help save lives every day. Does your child want to learn about saving lives and has an interest in learning more about firefighting, emergency medical services (EMS) or law enforcement? NTCC Kids Discovery College is hosting a fun, interactive and educational first responder academy. During the eight day academy, middle and high school students will learn from professionals who work and train as first responders in our community. Students will learn about and participate in activities related to: • EMS Operations: emergency scene scenarios, vital signs, CPR, Stop the Bleed (a national awareness campaign) • Police Operations: Fingerprints, Intro to crime scene investigations, police dogs (K-9), self-defense, gun safety, cyber bullying/internet safety, • Fire Operations: Fire extinguisher safety and training, firework safety scenarios, smoke ventilation, emergency rescue
