Northeast Police Academy  

A New Generation of Law Enforcement

The Northeast Police Academy is a fully accredited academy, with accreditation through Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). Qualified candidates will receive 643 hours of concentrated classroom instruction, extensive physical training, report writing, and computer basics...all during a 17-week period. Upon completion of the academy, cadets are awarded 37 semester hours of college credit.

The additional requirements we place on our cadets offer them skills and training not provided by other academies. The instructors of the Northeast Police Academy work hard to ensure that graduates possess the required skills, training, experience, and self-confidence to succeed in a career in law enforcement. This intensive program produces competent law enforcement candidates with highly marketable skills, knowledge, and expertise, enhancing employment opportunities and preparing graduates for all phases of their careers. Northeast Police Academy will prepare a new generation of law enforcement officers, confident in their their themselves.

Unique Features of Northeast Police Academy
This concentrated academy features highly qualified and dedicated instructors, with extensive experience in Law Enforcement and Education. Each of our permanent instructors possesses a Masters Degree. In addition to the 643 hours required by TCOLE, Northeast Police Academy offers 104 additional hours in physical training, report writing, and computer instruction to help them prepare for their careers in law enforcement. Upon completion of Northeast Police Academy, graduates will require only 12 additional courses (fewer in some cases) to achieve an Associate's Degree.

EVENING Police Academy

NTCC also offers an EVENING Police Academy for working adults who cannot attend the traditional credit Day Academy. The 643 hour Evening Academy meets Monday-Thursday evenings from 5pm to 10 pm and alternate Saturdays from 8a – 5p. This course runs approximately 28 weeks. This Academy is offered through Northeast’s Continuing Education Department.

Where is Northeast Police Academy?

Northeast Police Academy is located on the scenic campus of Northeast Texas Community College, a relaxed environment with small and intimate classes which offer individualized instruction. The campus is located on F.M. 1735, six miles southeast of Mount Pleasant.
