The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a check for $30,000 from Barry Smith of Pennsylvania. The funds benefit NTCC’s Carroll Shelby Automotive Progam and will go toward an upcoming Shelby restoration project.

For their performance in challenging honors courses at NTCC in relation to their peers, two Presidential Scholars will win $100 checks.  NTCC’s premiere James and Elizabeth Whatley Scholar, Jalyn English, received the highest GPA in the double-course fall Honors seminar known as “HuMusic,” taught by Drs. Daniel, and Fulgham.   Aaliyah Avellaneda won her award as the honors freshman, ranking number one in the “BioTex” Honors Seminar this past spring, a combination of Biology and Texas History, taught by professors Ward and Yox. 

Wednesday, Jan. 20 will be the last day for free COVID-19 testing on the NTCC campus. Due to anticipated inclement weather, testing will be moved inside to the lobby of the Whatley Center.  Testing hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the service is open to the public. 

The NTCC Agriculture and Continuing Education Departments are please to announce an upcoming Spring Break "Life on the Farm" Camp with Rene McCracken (NTCC Ag Director). 

The Agriculture and Continuing Education department will host a series of Backyard Farm Life classes this spring. The courses are designed to be an introduction or refresher for those interested in backyard farming practices. Classes include:

Northeast Texas Community College will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18 in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. The spring semester begins and offices will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

NTCC’s Business department provides flexible learning opportunities through various delivery methods. Small face-to-face courses that observe all safety protocols provide enhanced learning environments with plenty of individual support from instructors.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, NTCC continues to offer an expanded variety of course formats. This gives students maximum flexibility and allows for proper social distancing and safety measures on campus. It is very important to check your schedule ahead of time so you will know when and how to attend class. The types of courses you may see on your schedule are as follows:

The Whatley Center at Northeast Texas Community college announced this week that it will postpone the spring 2021 reopening to march. Initial plans were to resume with limited-capacity events beginning in January. Due to the continued rise of COVID-19 cases in the area, the season has been tentatively pushed back until March.
