The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles saw their remarkable 2026 season come to a close on May 15th in the NJCAA Super Regional, falling to Blinn College 11-1 in Game 2 of the best-of-three series in Waco.

While the postseason ended one step short of the NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series, the Eagles completed one of the most memorable seasons in recent program history. NTCC finished the year as Region XIV North Champions after an incredible postseason run that included battling through multiple elimination games and defeating Navarro College twice in less than 24 hours to claim the tournament title.

Throughout the spring, the Eagles established themselves as one of the top teams in the region with strong pitching, timely hitting, and resilience in high-pressure situations. The team’s postseason grit was on full display during the Region XIV North Tournament, where NTCC repeatedly responded with its back against the wall.

Head Coach Andy Morgan said he could not be prouder of the way the team competed all season long.

“I’m incredibly proud of this group of young men and everything they accomplished this season,” Morgan said. “They showed toughness, heart, and resilience from start to finish. Winning the Region XIV North conference championship, hosting and winning the North Regional Tournament and making the program's first Super Regional is something this team earned through hard work and believing in each other every day.”

Morgan, who was recently named Region XIV Coach of the Year and earned his 200th win as NTCC head coach earlier this season, continued to add to an already impressive legacy with another deep postseason run for the Eagles program.

Dr. Jon McCullough, Executive Vice President for Advancement, praised both the team and coaching staff for the way they represented the college throughout the year.

“We are extremely proud of Coach Morgan, his staff, and every player on this team,” McCullough said. “They represented Northeast Texas Community College with class, determination, and pride all season long. This was a special group that gave our community a lot to cheer for, and we are excited about the future of Eagles Baseball.”

The Eagles will return a strong foundation moving forward as the program looks to build on another championship season and continue its tradition of postseason success.
