Northeast Texas Community College recently held a ceremony to recognize 11 students who successfully completed the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) program. These students attended nine weeks of classes with clinical experience at a local nursing facility. In the CNA program, students learn to handle the day-to-day care of patients in hospitals, assisted living and long-term care facilities. Eyvette Alford, RN was the instructor.
CNAs work under the supervision of nursing and medical staff and are crucial to patient care. In fact, CNAs often have the most patient contact and can have a great impact on a patient's well-being.
Upon completion of the program, students are prepared to take the state CNA exam that is needed to obtain certification.
