The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles baseball and softball teams will host a special Ks 4 Kids Day at the Ballpark on Fri., April 6. The evening will feature free baseball and softball minicamps for kids of all ages. The NTCC Eagles baseball team starts the second game of their doubleheader against Bossier Parrish at 5 p.m. The softball camp gets underway at 5:30 p.m. and the baseball camp will start around 6:30 after the baseball game.
In addition to offering an evening of fun for the whole family, this event marks the official kickoff of the Ks for Kids campaign, which raises funds for the Women and Children's Center at Titus Regional Medical Center. The 2012 campaign marks the second year of the program, which last year raised nearly $60,000. The campaign raises money through one-time donations, business sponsors and pledges per strikeout that the Eagles record during the season. This year, the baseball and softball teams are striving for a combined 500 strikeouts. Pledges range from five cents to $3 per strikeout.
"The response to Ks for Kids was overwhelming last year and we look forward to being a part of it again this year," NTCC Athletic Director and Head Baseball coach, Josh Stewart, said. "We think this will be a great way to bring awareness to the cause and bring families out for a fun day at the ballpark."
During the minicamps, campers will have the opportunity to meet and work with NTCC players and coaches. Space is limited, so please e-mailjeremy.weber@ntcc.edu†to reserve your spot. Walk-ups are welcome as space permits.
Also, kids ages 12 and under will get a free Ks for Kids mini bat courtesy of D-Bat and Elliot Motor Group. Tickets for the baseball game are $5 for adults and $3 for students. A portion of the gate proceeds will benefit the Ks for Kids Campaign. Full concessions will be available.

The winner receives free admission to the park, a Ks 4 Kids mini bat, an autographed baseball and softball, an autographed baseball jersey and you get to throw out the first pitch at the April 6 Eagles 5:00 game.
The Titus Regional Medical Foundation will have a booth set up with information about fundraiser. Those interested in supporting the Ks 4 Kids campaign can make donations or complete a pledge form at that time.
