NTCC sees 2.5% enrollment growth

Northeast Texas Community College†grew by another 2.5% this Spring, continuing a rapid growth pattern which has existed since 2008.† A recent†preliminary enrollment report†shows 3,159 students enrolled for the Spring 2012 semester.

?NTCC continues to experience a period of sustained growth, for which we are grateful.† I believe this confirms recent decisions to add new programs and dramatically expand dual credit programs with our public school partners," NTCC President, Dr. Brad Johnson, said.

Over the last few years, NTCC has†added Shelby Automotive, Sustainable Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Industrial Technology and Culinary Arts programs. Apartment-style housing and a fitness center†were added†in 2011.†Online courses have been upgraded and expanded. Dual credit programs have been expanded and†both Men?s and Women?s Soccer teams have been added.

"While enrollment has continued to grow, state funding for the college has decreased," Johnson said. "Our faculty and staff have become experts at doing more with less. Their efforts have contributed significantly to our continued success during these hard times."

NTCC is currently accepting applications for the Summer and Fall 2012 semesters. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to allow plenty of time for processing.

"One result of an enrollment increase is that we are serving more people each day. Those who take care of everything early will get more face time with advisors and will likely experience faster processing times," Dr. Judy Traylor, NTCC Vice President for Outreach and Student Services, said.
