Eagles softball sweeps Angelina College

The Northeast Texas Community College Eagles softball team added another two notches to their belt Monday afternoon, sweeping Angelina College by scores of 9-3 in the first game and 10-4 in the second.

Freshman pitcher Hailey Dixon led NTCC to their first win of the day. Angelina college scored the first two runs of the game in the fourth inning and held the Eagles at bay until the sixth, when NTCC scored five runs. The Eagles added another four runs to the score by the end of the game, defeating Angelina college 9-3.

Game two saw the Eagles off to a quick start, scoring two runs in the first inning and four more in the third. Angelina college managed four runs in the sixth but the Eagles added another four to their score as well, with Freshman pitcher Caitlin Lites taking the win in the seventh with a final score of 10-4.

The softball team will be back in action at 1 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 19 at NTCC against North Central Texas College. Friday and Saturday they travel to Weatherford for a series of games against conference rivals Weatherford, Hill, and Howard Colleges.
