Men's soccer continues winning streak

The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Men?s Eagles Soccer team won†four†of†four†games this week., shutting out†Jacksonville College,†Paris Junior†College†and Coastal Bend College, while giving up only one goal to Laredo Community College. The Eagles are†now†ranked†fifth†in the nation according to the National Junior College Athletic Association coaches poll this week.



In the game against Jacksonville, Rimario Gordon (pictured) had his third hat trick of the week scoring the first three goals of the game putting the Eagle up 3-0 one minute into the second half.† His first game of the goal was unassisted and he was assisted by Eric Gonzalez and Gabriel Calvacanti on the next two goals. Yannick Koffi, with an assist from Undre Shankle, and Eric Gonzalez, with an assist from Ramse Mojica, each tacked on one more goal apiece helping the Eagles close out the 5-0 win. In the game against PJC,†Rimario Gordon and Yannick Koffi each scored two goals assisted by one another in the first half of the game. Eric Gonzalez added another goal for the Eagles in the second half assisted by Daniel Zavaleta before Gordon completed†his first†hat-trick†of the week†77 minutes in, handing the Eagles a 6-0 victory.



Gordon accomplished a second hat-trick during the game against Coastal Bend on Thursday. Koffi scored the first goal of the game five minutes in unassisted before Gordon scored three consecutive goals assisted by Dorian Hernandez, Luis Chavez and Koffi respectively to win the game 4-0.



Gordon kicked off the game against Laredo with an unassisted goal eight minutes in with Koffi scoring 12 minutes later assisted by Daniel Nevarez before Undre Shankle gave the Eagles their third goal at the 35 minute mark assisted by Koffi. Laredo made a last ditch effort to narrow the score and added one point 82 minutes in, but were unable to take the lead with the Eagles winning the game 3-1.



The Men†have a huge†rematch against #2 Tyler Junior College at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, at NTCC. The Men then travel to Paris to play Paris Junior College again at 4:00†p.m.†on Saturday, Oct. 18.† The Eagles record stands at 13-2 for the season.
