NTCC Rodeo update

The Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) rodeo team has five members ranked in the 2014-2015 Southern Region standings after their second rodeo of the season. The team hopes to improve its place in the standings after this weekend's home rodeo at the Mount Pleasant City Arena.



Jessie Bean is ranked fourth in the saddle bronc event with 40 points. Nathan Rail holds seventh place as Header with Cannon Fletcher ranked seventh and Shane McCall holding tenth as Heeler in the team roping competition. Karson Stevens stands at number 14 in the breakaway event.



Head Rodeo Coach Skylar Hunnicutt said that the team performed well at the†Southwest Texas Junior College rodeo last weekend and they are ready to compete again on Thursday.



?We did very well this weekend, won second in the first round of team roping event and second in the first round of bronc riding, they have been working hard and are ready for another chance to compete this weekend,? Hunnicutt said.



The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo will begin†at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Admission will be $7 for adults, $5 for children 12 to seven years old, and NTCC students with ID and children under seven are free. The Mount Pleasant City Arena is located on Greenhill Road north of Applebee?s.
