Eagles softball splits with PJC

The Northeast Texas Community College Lady Eagles softball team split their weekend series against Paris, bringing them to 19-27 overall with two games left in their regular season.





On Friday the Lady Eagles beat Paris 7-0 in seven innings after a four-run explosion in the seventh.†The Lady Eagles scored in the seventh on a fielder's choice, a walk by Taite McBee, a sacrifice fly by Madison Selman, and an RBI single by Taylor Van Kirk.





Maddison Moyer racked up two RBIs on one hit for NTCC as She homered in the fifth inning.†Hailey Dixon looked sharp in the circle. Paris managed just one hit off of Dixon, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out none during her seven innings of work.





The lead stayed with the Lady Eagles after the fifth, when they scored three runs on an RBI and two solo blasts.†The Lady Eagles then fell to Paris 7-2 during the second half of the double-header. Caitlin Lites ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.





In the top of the first Morgan Dison kicked things off for the Lady Eagles with a single, grabbing an early 1-0 lead. Paris scored two runs on a groundout and an RBI single, they never surrendered the lead after the fourth inning, building upon their lead with three more runs in the fifth.





The Lady Eagles softball team will play their final games of the season on Thursday, April 23 at Kilgore.
