Theatre Northeast presents Almost, Maine

A stellar cast headlines the Theatre Northeast current production, the charming romantic comedy,†Almost, Maine,†by John Cariani, which runs October 22, 23 and 24 at 7:30 and October 25 at 2:05 in the ?On Stage Theatre? of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Northeast Texas Community College.

Welcome to†Almost, Maine,†a town so far north, it?s almost in Canada. And it almost doesn?t exist because its residents never got around to getting it organized. So it?s just?almost.†On a cold, clear night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine.††As the northern lights hover in the star filled sky above, love is lost, found and confounded.††††

To date,†Almost, Maine†has been produced by more than 2,500 theatre companies in the United States making it one of the most produced plays in the past decade.

?Almost, Maine†is a genuinely sweet and warm-hearted romantic comedy.††It is full of endearing and charming characters that are sweet-natured, whimsical and frequently touching.††We have assembled a marvelous cast of inventive and imaginative actors who bring this tender story to life,?†Director of the play, Douglas Hoppock, said.

The play features Distinguished Theatre Northeast Alumni Kathryn Comer of Mount Pleasant, Lauren Shortnacy of†Mount Pleasant,† Tyler Beadle of†Mount Pleasant, Ariah Burkhalter of†Mount Pleasant†and Marcy Logan of Omaha. Other cast members include, Brianna Stacks, Ben Ruland, Jake Lain and Elizabeth Teraba, all of Pittsburg; Kaitlyn Currey of†Mount Pleasant,†Nathan Johnson of Mount Vernon, Trace Lewis of Redwater, Corin Carter of Gilmer and Hunter Williams of Winnsboro. Stage Manager for the production is Ariah Burkhalter. The production is directed by Douglas Hoppock.

Ticket prices are $10 for Adults, $7 for Age 17 and under, NTCC Faculty, Staff and Sr. Citizens $5. NTCC students are free with a current ID.
