The†Northeast Texas Community College Medical Assistant program will begin accepting applications for the Fall 2016 semester February 1. If you have visited a doctor?s office in the area recently, there is a good chance you have been cared for by an NTCC Medical Assistant graduate. These professionals greet patients as they arrive for appointments, process insurance, schedule appointments, answer calls, draw blood, give shots and assist your physician with all aspects of care. Some medical assistants work behind the scenes making sure that visits are coded and billed correctly. If you think medical assisting might be right for you, please plan to attend one of our upcoming informational sessions. They are scheduled in UHS room 245 (on the main NTCC campus) at the following times:†Thursday, Feb. 16 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.; Thursday, March 3 from 6:30-7:30; Monday, March 28 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.; Friday, April 8 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. or Tuesday, April 9 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Please direct questions†about the NTCC Medical Assistant program to Dr. Tawny Nix, Program Director, at 903-434-8289 or†tnix@ntcc.edu†or Amanda Hutchings, CMA Instructor, at 903-434-8363 or†ahutchings@ntcc.edu.†† † † † † †
