Northeast Texas Community College will hold Last Chance Registration event August 15-19 in the Student Union Building (SUB). Faculty and staff will be on hand to help students take care of last-minute business before classes begin August 22. Registration will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday.
?This is by far our busiest time of the year at NTCC. We have a lot of students who need to see advisors, register for classes and finish up the financial aid process,? Dr. Josh Stewart, NTCC Vice President for Student and Outreach Services, said. ?By bringing in our faculty to help with advising, we hope to serve students faster and more efficiently."
Throughout Last Chance Registration week, students who need to register for classes or meet with financial aid should report to the SUB during this time. Staff and faculty advisors will help them navigate the enrollment process. Those who need to make payment or have a student ID printed should report directly to the Admin/Student Services Building.
?We are very excited to have our faculty participate in this event. It is a great opportunity for students to meet directly with the instructors who teach in their areas of study,? Dr. Ron Clinton, NTCC Executive Vice President for Instruction, said.
Students should prepare for the event by making sure that they have completed an application for admission and the FAFSA if they hope to qualify for financial aid. After they apply, they will receive an e-mail explaining how to login to the myEagle Student Portal and complete further steps toward enrolling.
?It will make things go significantly smoother if you have your application and FAFSA completed prior to the registration event. When you login to the portal it will tell you the items you need to complete admission like transcripts, shot records, etc.,? Stewart said. ?However, we will also have computers set up so you can take care of this on site.?
Returning students may also need assistance with advising, and they are welcome to attend as well.
?Our goal is to serve as many people as possible during the week before classes start. Each of our students is a valued member of the Northeast family, and we want to help make registering for classes as easy and stress-free as possible,? Stewart said.
In addition to Last Chance Registration, the College Store will also be open so students can purchase textbooks and other supplies.
