NTCC to offer iCan Kids Discovery College this summer

The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education Department is planning a variety of fun courses for kids ages 8-15 this summer. Registration is now open for the iCan Kids Discovery College, which will be held in two sessions.

?Our summer kids programs have been very popular in the past and we are excited to bring them back this year. This is a great way for kids to get out of the house and do something both fun and educational during the summer months†and discover what NTCC has to offer,? Lisa York, NTCC Director of Continuing Education, said.

The first session will be held at the Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg June 6-16. Session two will be held at the Elizabeth Hoggatt Whatley Agriculture Center across from the main NTCC campus June 20-30. Students can participate in one session or several to make a whole day of fun and learning. Both sessions will include these courses:

Creative Canvas Painting, 8:30-10:00 a.m., Cost: $79

Multicultural Dance, 9-10 a.m., Cost: $59

Keyboarding Internet Safety, 10-11 a.m., Cost: $69

Sculpting, 10:00-11:30 a.m., Cost: $79

Tumbling, 10:00-11:30 a.m., Cost: $59

Video Game Design, 11:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m., Cost: $69

The Mad Scientist, 1:00-2:30 p.m., Cost: $79

Robotics, 1-3 p.m., Cost: $99

There will also be a Cooking with Chef Reeves culinary arts course June 20-30 at the NTCC Culinary Arts School in downtown Pittsburg from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The cost for this course is $119.†Students must be at least 10 years old to participate in this program.

Space is very limited in each class, so please sign up as soon as possible. Registration must be completed by June 1 for session I and June 15 for session II.
