United States Congressman John Ratcliffe will visit Northeast Texas Community College†Thursday,†Jan. 21 at 2:30 p.m. He will speak in the Criminal Justice Center to Police Academy cadets on the topic of Cyber Security,†Terrorism and Illegal Immigration. Mr. Ratcliffe represents the fourth district of Texas, which includes the NTCC district, in the United States House of Representatives.

As U.S. Attorney, he was the top federal law enforcement officer for a 33,000 square mile area of North and East Texas, including almost all of the 4th Congressional District. He earned national acclaim for his efforts to combat terrorism, illegal immigration, drug trafficking, public corruption and Internet child predators.

?We are very pleased to host Congressman Ratcliffe on our campus. With new technology comes new avenues for crime, and it is important that future law enforcement officers be trained in cyber security. This is a great opportunity for our students to learn from someone with extensive experience in that field,? Dr. Kevin Rose, NTCC Associate Vice President of Workforce Development, said.

NTCC faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend Congressman Ratcliffe?s presentation, though space will be limited.
