Are you interested in a career in healthcare? †If so, the Health Sciences department at Northeast Texas Community College invites you to attend their open house on Tuesday, June 27. This is a free event for the entire family that will allow visitors to explore all of the health science offerings at NTCC.

The event is from 4-8 p.m. in the University Health Science (UHS) building. The first 10 visitors will receive a free Roku Express (one per family) and there will be a drawing later in the evening for an Acer Chromebook laptop. Faculty and staff will also provide free food, drinks, music and there will be a bouncy house for the kids.

?We often hear people tell us that they are interested in helping people, but they aren?t sure what branch of healthcare is the best fit for them. This open house is a wonderful opportunity for community members to come out to tour our facility and spend time with our faculty and students one-on-one,? Dr. Shannon Cox-Kelley, Dean of Health Sciences, said.

NTCC offers the following health-related programs: Certified Nurse Aide, Community and Public Health, Community Healthcare Worker, Healthcare Management, Emergency Medical Services, EKG Technician, Funeral Services, Health Informatics, Human Performance, Medical Assistant, Medical Lab Technician, Medical Coding, Medication Aide, Mental Health Technician, Nursing (RN and LVN), Patient Care Technology, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy and Physical Therapist Assistant. Programs range from one semester certificates to full associate?s degrees. Some are available completely online.

?Many people don?t realize the variety of healthcare programs we offer at NTCC. We would love to help you get acquainted with them all to determine which might be the best fit for you and your goals,? Cox-Kelley said.

All ages and levels of interest are encouraged to attend. ?We really want this to be a community event. It will be a fun, no-pressure environment to interact with our programs and get a better idea of what we are all about,? she said.
