Cypress Bank donates laptop to NTCC Honors student

For the 13th straight year since 2008, Cypress Bank has presented a high-end MacBook laptop for the use of Northeast Texas Community College honors students. This year’s Cypress Bank Scholar is Cade Bennett. He is the son of Mark, and Cerena Bennett of Naples. A graduate of Paul Pewitt High School, Bennett was a varsity athlete, and member of the National Honor Society. With theatre experience as well, he assumed the star role this past summer in the 2020 film project of Honors Northeast at NTCC. Cypress Bank Vice President, Billie Sue Hanson, of the Lone Star Branch, presented Bennett with this gift (above). Cypress Bank has five locations in Pittsburg, Mount Pleasant, Lone Star, and Commerce.

The funeral service program at NTCC was a great program that helped me become confident in the field. I learned great skills that will benefit me from being a funeral director to an embalmer. This program worked for me, being able to do it online remotely. I was able to work full-time; and gain knowledge from being able to work hands on doing an apprenticeship. The courses here at NTCC were beneficial and important to help us be successful as we go and serve the families in the areas where we reside. My experience here was amazing, the Funeral Service Professors were amazing and willing to help in any way to help us become successful. — Kelby Dayley
