NTCC inclement weather procedure

It is forecasted that our area may experience a winter weather event this weekend and possibly into next week. With this in mind, we want to make sure the campus community is aware of our inclement weather procedure.

Remember, NTCC will be closed on Monday, Jan. 15th for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The spring semester is set to begin on Tuesday, Jan. 16th. Please review our protocol below to ensure you have access to the latest official information about any closures or delays that might be required.

Ultimately, we urge both students and employees to put their own safety first when it comes to dangerous weather. Since many people commute to our campus from some distance, weather conditions may vary. If the campus remains open and you do not feel safe driving, please contact your instructor or supervisor to make individual arrangements.

NTCC’s inclement weather procedure is as follows:

  • In case of bad weather, NTCC’s decision to close or not will usually be made by 6 a.m. for day classes and by 3 p.m. for evening classes.
  • If campus is closed or classes cancelled/delayed, the official notice will be sent out via the campus Eagle Alert system (text, email, call) and a message will be posted on the NTCC homepage (www.ntcc.edu). Messages will also be posted to the official NTCC Facebook page (www.facebook.com/NTCCeagles) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/ntcceagles/).
  • If no message is posted to these sources, it means NTCC will conduct business as usual. Information about closures or delays will also be sent to local and regional media outlets. However, we encourage you to consult the official college sources listed above.
  • In the event that there is a closure or delayed start, students should check Blackboard and their NTCC e-mail for program and course-level details or instructions.
