Jordan Hamilton, a graduate of Pittsburg High School and former Northeast Texas Community College student, is proof that big dreams can start in small towns.
While still in high school, Jordan earned 24 college credit hours from NTCC through dual credit, summer and evening classes — an experience he says helped him get a head start on his academic and professional journey. He went on to graduate from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and a minor in Economics, and today, he’s making waves in the world of advertising from the heart of New York City.
Jordan is currently a Brand Supervisor for 72andSunny, a prominent global advertising agency. His team recently received national recognition with a Sports Emmy Award for their work on an impactful public service announcement for the NFL that aired during Super Bowl 59. The one-minute commercial, based on Rev. Jesse Jackson’s powerful “I Am Somebody” speech, featured organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Special Olympics. Watch the ad here.
Jordan called the project “an honor” and said it was surreal to see how their message resonated with millions of viewers on one of the world’s biggest stages. Of course, he and his team were thrilled to later learn that the project also earned a coveted Emmy award. After a very long day at work, Jordan recalled returning to his apartment to find a surprise package—his very own Emmy statue.
Since graduating college, Jordan briefly lived in Austin and has now called NYC home for eight years. Along the way, he’s worked with leading brands like Verizon, HubSpot, Google, and The New York Times. He credits his success to staying open to new opportunities—even ones that didn’t seem to fit the plan at the time.
To current NTCC students, Jordan offers this advice: “Be ready for the opportunities when they show up. You may not see how they fit into the big picture right away, but they could lead you somewhere amazing.” He also encourages students to study abroad if given the chance, saying his own international experience gave him a broader perspective that has shaped his work and life.
From NTCC classrooms to a Super Bowl spotlight, Jordan Hamilton is a shining example of where hard work, open-mindedness, and bold decisions can lead.
