The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a check for $25,000 from the estate of Helen Hampton. The funds are being used to establish the Charlie and Helen Hampton Memorial Endowed Scholarship, which will be awarded to graduates of Paul Pewitt High School. Pictured accepting the gift (from left) is: Dr. Jon McCullough, NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement and Nita May, NTCC Director of Development.
Charlie and Helen both had fulfilling careers in education and were natives of Morris County. They were deeply invested in helping young people achieve their educational goals. In addition to this scholarship, they were longtime supporters of NTCC causes and the campus library bears their name.
“Charlie and Helen were wonderful friends of the college and they are missed. This final legacy from their estate will provide support for Pewitt graduates for many years to come,” McCullough said.
