Katon Trantham, Communities In Schools (CIS) Coordinator at Mount Vernon Elementary, was recognized as Campus Support Personnel of the Month during the December Mount Vernon ISD school board meeting.
Trantham has been a valued member of the CIS team for four years, providing consistent support to students and families through academic assistance, mentoring, and critical wraparound services.
“Katon brings a level of dedication and heart to her campus that is truly exceptional. Her commitment to building relationships and removing barriers for students makes a tremendous impact every single day,” Billi Jo Thomas, associate dean of outreach services and executive director of CIS, said.
Communities In Schools of Northeast Texas partners with schools across the region to help students stay in class and succeed by addressing both academic and non-academic needs. Trantham’s recognition highlights her ongoing efforts to ensure students feel supported, connected, and empowered. CIS is administered through Northeast Texas Community College.
