The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a gift from Mrs. LaWanda McCowan to perpetually endow the Dr. Winston C. McCowan, Sr. Memorial Scholarship. Mrs. McCowan (center) and her son Winston McCowan, Jr. (right) are pictured presenting a check to Dr. Jon McCullough, NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement.
The scholarship, originally established in 2021 by friends and family in memory of Dr. McCowan, supports outstanding Health Sciences students at NTCC. Dr. McCowan served the college from 1985 until his retirement in 2018 and was known for his passion for helping students succeed.
