Northeast Texas Community College recently partnered with UT Health Pittsburg to provide a two-day, hands-on Drywall Repair Training for their facilities team. The training, held at the Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg, focused on essential skills such as taping, bedding, spray texturing, and repair best practices.

The course offered practical instruction tailored to the hospital’s needs, with participants learning how to achieve clean, professional finishes in high-traffic areas. NTCC instructors guided staff through step-by-step demonstrations and hands-on practice, emphasizing efficiency, safety, and long-term durability.

“This course was exactly what we needed and the perfect amount of hours for our team,” said Russell Arnold, Maintenance Supervisor at UT Health Pittsburg.

Jimmy Smith, Director of Continuing Education and Corporate Training at NTCC, added, “Half of the training cost was covered by a Pittsburg Economic Development grant. This opportunity is currently available to other Camp County employers while funds last.”
