The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation finished East Texas Giving Day 2025 at the top of the leaderboard for the fourth year in a row this Tuesday. NTCC raised a record-breaking $557,833 via the annual fundraising event that has become a regional tradition.
NTCC received 131 unique online donations and multiple offline gifts that brought the total raised to more than double last year’s East Texas Giving Day total. Nita May, NTCC Director of Development and event organizer, said that these numbers reflect the enthusiasm and effort put forth by NTCC employees, students and community members.
According to May, NTCC received some exceptionally generous offline donations, including three endowed scholarships, that boosted this year’s East Texas Giving Day efforts.
“In addition to dozens of impactful online gifts, we also had several very large donations that came in from various sources. We are so grateful that donors chose to support the NTCC Foundation and we can’t wait to put those funds to great use impacting the lives of students,” May said.
East Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour online event that provides critical funding for our area nonprofits. East Texas Communities Foundation partners with area nonprofits to give donors across East Texas a chance to raise funds for local needs. The purpose of an area-wide Giving Day is to bring the region together on one day and as one community, raising money and awareness for East Texas nonprofits. This initiative, organized by East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF), provides citizens across ETCF's 32-county service area an easy platform to support the mission of local nonprofits that serve our communities. This year, the event raised over $3.5 million to support non-profits across the region.
“We are so thankful for the East Texas Communities Foundation for hosting this wonderful event. It has become our primary annual fundraiser and a source of fun and excitement on campus,” May said.
From scholarships to supporting student clubs, each dollar raised will go directly to support important causes at NTCC.
“We can’t say thank you enough to all of the donors who contributed to the NTCC Foundation on East Texas Giving Day. It is exciting to think about all of the scholarships and special projects that will be made possible by these gifts,” May said.
