The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo is in full swing, with plenty of action still ahead through Saturday at the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association Arena.
Friday’s competition kicks off with slack events — including Tie Down Roping, Ladies Breakaway Roping, Steer Wrestling, Goat Tying, and Team Roping — beginning at 9 a.m. The excitement continues Friday night at 7 p.m. with a full rodeo performance featuring both timed events and rough stock.
Saturday’s slack rounds will start at 10 a.m., followed by the final performance that evening at 7 p.m.. Each night’s performance will also feature the always-entertaining Calf Dressing and Costume Contest, where NTCC student, faculty, and staff teams compete for prizes — and plenty of laughs — as they race to dress their calves in the arena.
“This event is a great chance for our students and the community to come together for some friendly competition and a true rodeo experience,” said Assistant Athletic Director Justin Hargrove.
Admission is free for NTCC students and employees with a Hometown Tickets pass. For more information, contact Justin Hargrove at jhargrove@ntcc.edu or 903-434-8285.
