Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) is turning 40, and the community is invited to join the party! Since welcoming its first students in 1985, NTCC has proudly served the region for four decades. To celebrate, the college is hosting a 40th Anniversary Community Picnic on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the main campus plaza near the Eagles Nest Pavilion.

The event will feature:

  • Free food and free t-shirts
  • Live music
  • Door prizes
  • Bounce houses
  • Games & activities for all ages
  • Cornhole and pickleball tournaments
  • Car show
  • Wellness fair
  • Special ribbon-cutting and cake ceremony
  • Live radio remote with Star 96.9

In addition to NTCC’s free offerings, local food and drink vendors will be on-site selling their specialties, giving guests even more options to enjoy.

“This anniversary is about more than celebrating the college—it’s about celebrating the people who have made NTCC what it is today,” said Dr. Jon McCullough, NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement and chair of the 40th Anniversary Committee. “Our community has supported us for four decades, and this picnic is our way of saying thank you. We hope families from all across the area will come out, enjoy a fun day together, and help us kick off the next 40 years.”

The celebration theme is “Celebrating the Past, Empowering the Future.” While the picnic is the centerpiece event, NTCC will share more anniversary activities in the months ahead.

For now, organizers encourage everyone to save the date—Oct. 4—and join the NTCC family for a day of food, fun, and fellowship.
