Northeast Texas Community College recently welcomed Will Parent, President and Acting Executive Director of the Texas Community College Teachers Association (TCCTA) and Professor of Government at San Jacinto College–North Campus. This marks only the third visit by a TCCTA Executive Director in NTCC’s 40-year history.
During his visit, Mr. Parent met with faculty and administrators and addressed the Faculty Senate, reinforcing TCCTA’s commitment to supporting educators and promoting academic responsibility. He expressed strong interest in understanding faculty and administration needs and wishes from TCCTA. Additionally, Mr. Parent emphasized the importance of increasing TCCTA membership, fostering solidarity among educators, and encouraging greater involvement from staff and college leadership in TCCTA activities.
This historic visit underscores NTCC’s dedication to strengthening advocacy and collaboration, ensuring that faculty, staff and administrators have a powerful voice in shaping the future of community college education in Texas.
