
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts is excited to open its new season with a Sounds of Northeast concert featuring RokDox, an electrifying classic rock horn band, on Saturday, September 13th, at 7:30 p.m. This high-energy show will showcase iconic hits and dynamic performances from this talented group of musicians. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students.
This concert will be the first performance of the Whatley Center’s new season, themed Heart of the Arts. “We are excited to open our season with RokDox. They are a great example of some of the outstanding musical talent to be found right here in northeast Texas,” Carolyn Franks, Director of the Whatley Center, said.
Originally formed in the 1990s by a group of medical professionals from Good Shepherd in Longview, the RokDox have become a local favorite, known for their passion for music and their ability to bring classic hits to life. After a period of hiatus, the band reunited in 2021 and has been captivating audiences with their dynamic sound ever since.
The RokDox’s repertoire includes favorites from artists like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jimmy Buffett, Lionel Richie, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, The Eagles, Chicago, and more. Their performances blend expert musicianship with a genuine love for classic rock, ensuring a memorable experience for fans of all ages.
