The Northeast Texas Community College women’s soccer team battled their way to a thrilling 2–1 comeback victory over Jacksonville College on Tuesday afternoon in Jacksonville, Texas. The win secures the Eagles a spot in the Region Tournament.

Jacksonville struck first, taking an early lead in what proved to be a tightly contested matchup from start to finish. The Eagles responded 12 minutes later when Ebany Garcia made a perfectly timed run into the box and finished off a beautiful cross from Britney Moncherry, leveling the score at 1–1.

The decisive moment came with just six minutes left in the match. Kirsheema Enns laid off a clever pass to Karina Torres, who unleashed a stunning strike from outside the box that soared into the top left corner — sealing the Eagles’ comeback win.

Head Coach Dillon Williams praised his team’s performance, saying, “It was an amazing game today. The atmosphere was electric for the girls, and they truly played their hearts out. We’re starting to find our rhythm in the final third and getting that result a little more consistently. It was a dog fight and I’m proud of how the team fought to earn this win. There are always things that don’t show up on the stat sheet, and I want to give a big shoutout to Justice Johnson for her effort on the defensive side of the ball. She really stepped up, did her job, and played a huge role in helping the team secure this well-deserved victory.”
