Northeast Texas Community College will celebrate the opening of its new Athletics Complex Pavilion with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, Aug. 31, at 12:30 p.m. The event will help kick off NTCC’s Weeks of Welcome activities for the fall semester.
Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to attend the celebration, which will feature free barbecue, drinks, games and custom NTCC giveaways.
Representatives from the Mount Pleasant/Titus County Chamber of Commerce and Pittsburg/Camp County Chamber of Commerce will be on hand to facilitate the official ribbon cutting.
The new pavilion provides an additional outdoor gathering and recreation space for students and employees at the NTCC Athletics Complex. Stansell Construction of Mount Pleasant served as the contractor for the pavilion, and Symmetry Sports Construction completed the court surfacing.
The project was made possible entirely through private funding from the estate of David and Pat Sistrunk.
“This pavilion is a wonderful addition to our Athletics Complex and will provide another place for our students and employees to gather, connect and enjoy campus life,” Dr. Jon McCullough, Executive Vice President for Advancement, said. “We are incredibly grateful to the David and Pat Sistrunk estate for making this project possible. Their generosity will have a lasting impact on our campus and the students we serve for many years to come.”
The ribbon cutting is free and open to the public.
