The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department will welcome Texas artist Beverly Boren as its visiting artist for October. Her exhibit will be on display in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts from Friday, Oct. 2, through noon Wednesday, Oct. 21.
A reception honoring Boren will be held Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 12:30–1:20 p.m. The campus community is invited to attend, meet the artist and view her work.
Boren, a Texas native who lives in Trophy Club, works in a variety of mediums and draws inspiration from a wide range of subjects, including landscapes, still lifes and people. She describes painting as a way to connect with the world and those around her.
“My best hope is that my work will stand simply on its own, and find a connection with viewers where words fail,” Boren said.
Boren is a signature member of the Outdoor Painters Society, Southwestern Watercolor Society and American Impressionist Society. She is also a member of Oil Painters of America and the American Watercolor Society.
The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
