The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department will open its first exhibit of the Spring 2026 semester with a pottery exhibition by artist Cindy Fuqua. The exhibit will be on display Friday, Feb. 6, through Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the Whatley Center Foyer.
An artist reception will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 12:30–1:20 p.m. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
Fuqua’s work reflects her background in classical ballet and choreography, where an emphasis on line, flow, form and technique shaped her artistic foundation. That same discipline now guides her work in clay, as she approaches the potter’s wheel as a form of movement and expression.
Her pottery is characterized by soft, classical lines, fluid forms and a touch of whimsy, celebrating both beauty and the joy of everyday life. Fuqua describes her work as being infused with positive energy, created not only through the making process but also through the connections formed when her pieces become part of others’ lives.
The exhibit may be viewed during regular hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon on Fridays.
