NTCC Assistant Rodeo Coach Drew Madden will step into the arena as a competitor this weekend at the Cinch United Finals Rodeo, set for Oct. 23-25 at the Brazos Valley Expo in Bryan.
Madden will compete in steer wrestling at the United Professional Rodeo Association (UPRA) finals, which will feature $300,000 in added money and bring top rodeo competitors to Bryan for the three-day event.
Now in his first year as an assistant coach with the NTCC Rodeo program, Madden brings an accomplished competitive background to his coaching role. A product of college rodeo, he is a College National Finals Rodeo qualifier, three-time California Circuit Finals qualifier and the 2024 California Rookie of the Year.
A native of Sloughhouse, California, Madden earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural science from East Texas A&M University and an associate degree in agricultural science and technology from West Hills Community College in Coalinga, California.
Madden remains active as a competitor while helping mentor and develop NTCC student-athletes. His continued involvement in professional rodeo allows him to bring current, firsthand competitive experience to the Eagles' rodeo program.
NTCC wishes Madden the best of luck as he represents the Eagles at the UPRA Finals this weekend
