Foundation Board hosts annual business meeting

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation Board met Tuesday, Feb. 17, for its annual business meeting.

Board Chair Rick Nelson called the meeting to order, and NTCC President Dr. Kevin Rose provided a college update, highlighting continued growth and the Foundation’s vital role in expanding opportunities for students.

The board approved minutes from the Feb. 18, 2025, meeting before hearing a featured presentation from Kyle Penney, president of the East Texas Communities Foundation, on “The Charitable Impact of the East Texas Transfer of Wealth.” Penney shared regional trends and discussed the significant opportunity for philanthropic investment to support higher education and community initiatives.

Dr. Jon McCullough presented financial and committee reports, including the Foundation audit, giving history, scholarship updates and investments. Reports reflected continued donor generosity and the Foundation’s commitment to responsible stewardship.

Members also reviewed upcoming committee meetings and Foundation events, along with recent NTCC alumni success stories.

Lunch was catered by Brandon Rodriguez, an NTCC alumnus and owner of Rancho Seco Steakhouse, adding a meaningful alumni connection to the day’s events.
