Northeast Texas Community College students, employees and community members interested in exploring Boston are invited to learn more about an upcoming travel study opportunity planned for spring 2027.
The 2027 NTCC Boston Travel Course is tentatively scheduled for May 23-27 and will offer participants the opportunity to experience the history, government, literature, art and culture of one of America’s most historic cities.
An initial interest meeting will be held Monday, Sept. 28, at 12:30 p.m. in H-107. Organizers will discuss the tentative itinerary, anticipated cost, registration timeline, payment options and possible scholarship opportunities for students. Financial details are still being developed and will be shared once finalized.
Potential itinerary highlights include the Freedom Trail, Massachusetts State House, Black Heritage Trail, USS Constitution, John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and Museum of Fine Arts. Visits to Harvard, Salem, and Lexington and Concord are also being considered.
Students may have the opportunity to earn college credit in several disciplines, including government, history, English, mass communications, art appreciation and photography. Students earning credit will participate in faculty-guided activities during the trip and complete coursework appropriate to their selected discipline.
The trip is open to NTCC students, faculty, staff and community members. Community members are welcome to participate in the trip without enrolling in a course or earning college credit. Dual-credit students may participate if a parent or guardian also travels. Attending the Sept. 28 interest meeting does not obligate participants to sign up for the trip.
