The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a check for $4,000 from Jerry Hearron on behalf of the Mount Pleasant Community Fund. Pictured at the check presentation (from left) is Hearron and Nita May, NTCC Director of Development. The donation was made through the NTCC Foundation’s “$40 for 40 Years” campaign, which commemorates the college’s four decades of service to the community.
This East Texas Giving Day gift will be used to provide emergency scholarships for students at risk of dropping out of college. This is in addition to the organization's Mount Pleasant Community Scholarship, which funds scholarships for new graduates of Chapel Hill High School, Harts Bluff Early College High School, and Mount Pleasant High School. All graduates from these schools are eligible to apply for this scholarship, which has been helping Titus County students achieve their college goals for many years.
The Mount Pleasant Community Scholarship application for 2026 high school seniors who plan to attend NTCC in the fall is currently open. To learn more about the scholarship, visit www.ntcc.edu/mpcs or contact Maria Gonzalez at 903-434-8116.
