Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education is looking to expand firearms training opportunities and is asking the community to help determine what classes should be offered.
NTCC is partnering with local company Cornerstone Training Academy to offer firearms training utilizing the college’s state-of-the-art indoor firing range. A Texas License to Carry (LTC) course is already planned, and the college hopes to add additional training based on community interest.
Community members are encouraged to complete a brief survey indicating the types of firearms training they would be interested in attending. Feedback will help NTCC and Cornerstone Training Academy develop future courses for a variety of experience levels and training needs. Access the survey at this link.
“We’ve had a lot of interest in the upcoming LTC class, and that has been really encouraging,” said Chris Weisinger, an NTCC Police officer and firearms instructor. “We know people have different levels of experience and different reasons for wanting firearms training. We’re excited to hear what the community is interested in and use that feedback to develop classes that meet those needs.”
Those interested in future firearms training at NTCC are encouraged to complete the online survey.
