As the fall semester gets underway, Northeast Texas Community College reminds all students, faculty and staff to download SaferWatch, NTCC’s campus safety and emergency notification app.

SaferWatch provides quick access to important safety information and emergency assistance. Through the app, students and employees can contact campus authorities or emergency services and report non-emergency safety concerns.

The app also plays an important role in keeping the NTCC community informed during an emergency. Users should make sure notifications and location services are enabled so they can receive timely alerts and safety information.

Students and employees will continue to receive emergency notifications through text messages and phone calls in addition to alerts through the SaferWatch app.

Parents and community members are also encouraged to download SaferWatch. While they cannot submit reports, they can receive emergency alerts and stay informed about critical incidents affecting the NTCC campus.

“Safety is a shared responsibility,” said Kim Irvin, co-chair of NTCC’s Safety and Security Committee. “With SaferWatch, we are giving everyone connected to our campus the tools to respond quickly and stay informed during emergencies.”

SaferWatch is available free for Apple and Android devices. NTCC strongly encourages all new and returning students and employees to download the app and get connected before an emergency occurs.
