The 14th annual Honors Northeast Roundup occurred again this fall, 12 September, amidst an initial screening, social distancing, and individualized servings.  NTCC’s Agricultural Pavilion provided an ideal, open and covered location for the dinner, and the Ag Club directed by Rene McCracken, and led by student president, Maverick Jones provided a sumptuous and safe chili dinner.

Fifty honors students and their families attended the gathering.  In a brief opening ceremony, Honors Director Andrew Yox called attention to the financial support for the dinner provided by Drs. Jim and Paula Archer, as well as Dr. Mary Hearron.  He also featured a plaque that will be given the Archers in commemoration of their not only hosting the first thirteen Honors Roundups, but also of financing twenty-five day trips to Dallas, Fort Worth, and Shreveport, for honors students and faculty, since the honors program began in 2007.
