Multicultural & Career Awareness Week planned

Join us in Celebrating Multicultural and Career Awareness Week at the Northeast Texas Community College Campus from September 23-27, 2019, as we unite in shaping our community!

Week-long celebrations will be taking place in many areas throughout the NTCC campus. Some of the festivities happening throughout the week include:

  • DIFFERENT CULTURES: SIMILAR MEANINGS- Displays in the Student Union Building and Learning Commons featuring a different "Proverb of the Day" each day; one will be an English translation from a non-American culture, the other will be a similar proverb used here in America.
  • RECIPES FROM HOME- Cultural Dishes in the Main Cafeteria. 
  • FLAGS & CLOCKS IN THE STUDENT UNION BUILDING- Brought to you by NTCC students, faculty, and staff.
  • WHERE ARE YOU CONNECTED TO?- Put a dot on the world globe in the Student Union Building to share with us where you come from or where you feel connected to!
  • WHAT CULTURE DO YOU WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT?- Let the Student and Outreach Services Office know by adding a “paper hand” to their drop box!

Some of the activities and performances happening in the Student Union Building throughout the week include:

  • INTERACTIVE GAMES, ACTIVITIES & DISPLAYS(Monday through Thursday) - Hosted by the different organizations on campus.
  • MULTICULTURAL FASHION SHOW(Monday, Sept. 23, 2019 - 12:25-1:25 p.m.) - Organized by the Cosmetology Club and Student Volunteers, check out some of the great fashions from America and abroad, in this great show in the Humanities Community Room! Location: Community Room  
  • CAREER FAIR (Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019 - 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.) Hosted by Student Success Services - Contact Person: Rocio Rodriguez Location: Student Union Building   
  • MULTICULTURAL TASTE OF NTCC(Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019 - 12:00-1:30 p.m.) Students, Faculty, and Staff members will prepare multicultural dishes for sampling by the college community.  CULTURAL ART DISPLAYS- Organized by volunteers of the NTCC campus community and Pittsburg High School Art Students Location: Student Union Building   
  • MULTICULTURAL SPORT TOURNAMENT(Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 - 6:00 p.m.-Until) Ping Pong Tournament - If you would like to participate, please sign-up at the Office of Student Activities with Rico Willis. Location: Student Union Building      
  • MOVIE NIGHT – Pan’s Labyrinth -The movie will be in Spanish with English subtitles.  (Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.) - Hosted by the Film Club Location: H129
  • 5thANNUAL AVAILABLE AND ABLE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE (Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 - 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.) Preparing students for the 365 Leadership Experience! Location: Whatley Center
