Funds raised for Team Arise Veteran Scholarship
Michael Brown and Mount Pleasant Running Company recently raised more than $2,000†in support of The Team Arise Veteran Scholarship Fund†at Northeast Texas Community College.†Team Arise is an organization that provides scholarships to local veterans and children of veterans.

Night police academy offered in New Boston
Northeast Texas Community College is hosting an evening Police Academy (Basic Peace Officer Training) beginning October 3 at the Elementary School building in New Boston. The training program is 34 weeks and meets from 5:30-10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every second and fourth Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The cost is $1,556 plus books and uniforms. NTCC offers affordable payment plans and this program qualifies for limited grant assistance for eligible students.

Honors Northeast welcomes 2016-2017 scholars
The Northeast Texas Community College Honors Program is pleased to announce its Honors Students for the 2016-2017 school year. This includes†10†Presidential Scholars and†15†Honors Scholars.
Honors Northeast†was founded in the spring of 2007. Geared to attract top high school graduates and college students, the program has prospered thanks to a network of loyal supporters both in and out of the college. Each year, NTCC honors students have attended and presented research at the Great Plains Honors Council and the National Collegiate Honors Council.

Art department hosts photography exhibit
† † † The Northeast Texas Community College Art Department is hosting its first art exhibit of the 2016-2017 academic year in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Wesley Fellowship center nears completion
Many of you may have noticed a new building being constructed†adjacent to the NTCC campus. The Wesley Fellowship Center, which is a†result of years of fundraising and planning by members of the Wesley Fellowship, is slated to open within the next few months. The facility features a kitchen, multipurpose room, classrooms and an apartment for the building manager. In addition to being utilized for Bible studies and fellowship events, the center will also be used by NTCC and Chapel Hill for various other purposes. Look for further information in the near future!
NTCC closed Sept. 5 for Labor Day
Northeast Texas Community College will be closed Monday, Sept. 5 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Offices will be closed and classes will not meet. NTCC will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
